Minutes of Conference 1876 of Methodist Ministers in the Connection established by the Late Rev. John Wesley.

As expected this book contains much information about the Church and statistical information relating to it.

However it is very name rich as it contains an alphabetical list of “Wesleyan-Methodist Ministers and Preachers on Trial in Great Britain and Ireland and on the Colonial and foreign Stations under the British Conference.” This includes all sorts of countries from France to India, China and the West Indies.  This list alone contains about 2500 names.

In addition there are lists of Committee members, Appointments in the Army and Navy, and of benefactors gifting Chapels and Schools etc.

There are also obituaries for ministers who died since the last conference and write ups about retiring ministers.
